Coaching in the workplace

90-hour complete course, acredited by International Coach Federation (ICF) - Level 1
for everyone who wants to learn to communicate with colleagues, clients, suppliers…. differently, mainly, more effectively.

Overview

Intended participants

Business and company owners and Top managers, Operational managers at all levels, HR managers, Personnel focused on communication with others, e.g. suppliers, customers, etc., Sales managers and representatives, Internal coaches and other people development specialists.

Pre-requisites for individuals to enrol

  • High school education, minimum middle education level
  • Responsibility, integrity, honesty, respect for dignity and humanity of others, pro social behaviour, positive regards for others

You will be awarded the Level 1 course certificate showing the completion of 90 hour training including the 10 mentoring hours and successful final exam, which is accepted by ICF when applying for the ACC certification of the coach.

Contents

Module 1

2 days + 6 hours of integral support activities + mentoring
The Goal and Topics
  • Understanding the principles and philosophy of coaching.
  • Coaching in Slovakia and coaching associations ICF and SAKo.
  • Coaching as a form of personal development of an individual or a team ( what does it bring to me, to the team or to the company).
  • Basic coaching skills in line with the ICF competencies 1-8, (Basics, Co-creating Relationships, Communicating Effectively, Cultivating Learning and Growth).
  • Basics of coaching process GROW and Solution focus (building further on the ICF competencies).
  • Application of coaching skills and processes through practical work in triads, using authentic topics of the participants supervised by tutor/coaches – one tutor to 3-4 participants.

Between modules 1 and 2

6 hours + 2 hrs homework

a) Homework:

  • Written reflection from application in the workplace and recommended literature + mentoring.
  • Specific action steps in the workplace agreed at the end of each taught module – self directed learning – 1 hour.
  • Reflection on set pieces of reading – self directed learning/ homework – 1 hour.

b) Peer coaching amongst participants – individual coaching in triads, practising basic coaching skills (goals, active listening, powerful questioning, coaching process, self reflection) under the supervision of  tutors / professional coaches – 2 hours.

c) Group coaching supervision / Action Learning via ZOOM lead by a professional Coaching supervisor – 4 hours (2 x 2 hrs).

d) Individual mentoring via telephone / ZOOM by the allocated mentor / professional coach – 2 hours followed by written feedback.

Module 2

2 days + 6 hours integral support activities + mentoring

The Goal and Topics
  • Action Learning – on the first evening – sharing realisations gained through self-reflection on practice of learning in the workplace, focus-group coaching between participants, feedback from professional coaches/tutors.
  • Learn to apply the selected coaching techniques in practice within the workplace.
  • Building further on the basic skills according to the ICF competences 1 – 8:
    • Application of coaching through live coaching conversations – development of competences, ethics, values, presence, 3rd level listening and new coaching skills and processes.
    • Team coaching (GROW, Appreciative Inquiry, Disney Strategy), group coaching, management styles – directive vs. non-directive.

Between modules 2 and 3

6 hours integral support activities  + 2 hrs homework + individual and group mentoring

a) Homework:

  • Specific action steps in the workplace agreed at the end of each taught module – self directed learning 1 hour.
  • Reflection on set pieces of reading – self-directed learning/ homework –  1 hour.

b) Peer coaching amongst participants – individual coaching in triads, practising basic coaching skills (goals, active listening, powerful questioning, coaching process, self reflection) under the supervision of  tutors / professional coaches – 2 hours.

c) Group coaching supervision / Action Learning via ZOOM led by a professional Coaching supervisor – 2 hours.

d) Individual mentoring via telephone / ZOOM by the allocated mentor / professional coach – 1 hour followed by a written feedback.

e) Group mentoring – 2 hours.

Module 3

2 days

The Goal and Topics
  • Self-reflection on action points from previous module, sharing experiences.
  • Refresh the key ICF coaching competencies 1 – 8:
    • Application of coaching in the workplace interactions eg appraisals, motivational conversations, performance feedback, challenging conversations and coaching at the moment.
    • Bringing the coaching culture into a company, where to start, developing a coaching management style.
  • Specific action steps in their own workplaces.

After the 3rd module

Over the duration of 2-3 months after completion of Module 3, participants engage in focusing on the application of coaching in their workplace in a form of:
  • Action learning following the third module 2 x 2 hours
  • Individual and Group mentoring 2 x 1 hour and 2 x 2 hours
 

Final assesment

1 day – live assessed coaching session

It is mandatory for participants to be present during the final assessments of their colleagues, as it is also part of their training. They provide feedback to the participants being assessed as part of the assessment process.

The condition of being awarded the certificate is the completion of 90 hours training including 10 hours mentoring and successful final exam at the Level 1 course accreditation, which is accepted by the ICF when applying for the ACC certification of the coach.

Delivery method

In person and online or fully online.

The course is highly interactive and experiential with an excellent Tutor/Trainee ratio of one tutor to 3-4 course participants.

It is made up of 3 x 2 day taught Modules PLUS intensive support activities between Modules in the form of peer coaching, group coaching supervision, action learning and individual and group mentoring. In case of online course is duration of each module 2.5 days.

Following the 3rd module, participants are supported by individual coaching, further mentoring and Action learning focused on the application of coaching in the workplace.

Number of participants: min. 6 – max. 12.

The course is exceptional by the ratio of 3-4 participant to one professional coach/trainer plus apart from focusing on coaching competencies, the course is also highly focused on the application of coaching, particularly over the three months after the module 3. supporting the participants by the way of:

  • Action learning – sharing participants experiences applying coaching at work and implementing coaching culture in their places of work alongside the
  • Individual and group mentoring

The course is completed by the assessment at an agreed date.

Closure of registration

1 week before the start of the course.

We declare the right to change the start of the course or the modules.

Course Fee

2990 € excluding VAT for 90 hours, including the lunches and evening meals as indicated. Accommodation is paid individually by the participants.

Participants of the previous ZAKO workshops I. – III. will have the costs of attended workshops deducted from the price above.

Payments are done prior to the start of training via the bank transfer based on invoice issued.

Course participants pay for their own accommodation.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of the training is possible up to 30 days, prior to the start of training via e-mail info@kouci.sk without incurring the cancellation fee.

Cancellation of the training which is less than 15 days will incur the cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of the first module (without the discount).

In case the participant does not complete the course for personal reasons, payments made will not be returned. The participants can transfer to another follow on training within the 6 months from the written request to finish the training, or transfer the payment to another participant.

There is no financial compensation for the absence of the participant.

Through the written registration of the participant to the training programme, participant agrees with the cancellation conditions above.
